GlobalShala in partnership with Northeastern University, Boston, USA, organized a major global contest Superhero U. This contest required the very sought-after 21^st-century skill of problem-solving. There are innumerable global issues that need urgent attention. They are just like the bad guys, monsters and ills that our beloved DC and Marvel superheroes fight in the movies. Meticulous planning and aligning the goals with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, we came up with the Superhero U contest. We hoped that this contest could provide a creative space to design your own superhero who fought a real-world issue.

These complex modern challenges that we’re facing require innovation, drive, and even a bit of a superpower to solve them in a unique and imaginative way. Submissions were through written content, illustration, posters, photo collages, or even videos and video games.

There were more than 2000 submissions from 100+ countries. Individual entries, teams of students, some with teachers came in and it was so intriguing to witness such talents from all around the globe. Mini time-bound contests like refer and earn, etc were also introduced. Up to a whopping USD 90,000 was offered to the winners of the contest. Besides the experience factors stated above, there were so many wonderful chances to win cash prizes, gadgets, internships, scholarships, and more.
