Raloxifene 60mg tablet is a medication specifically prescribed for postmenopausal women for two main purposes:

Prevention and Treatment of Osteoporosis: Osteoporosis is a condition that weakens bones, making them more prone to fractures. Raloxifene works as a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM), mimicking estrogen’s effects on bones to increase their density and strength. This helps prevent fractures, particularly in the spine, which are common in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis.

Reduction of Invasive Breast Cancer Risk: In some postmenopausal women, particularly those at increased risk of breast cancer, raloxifene can help lower the chances of developing invasive breast cancer. It acts differently on breast tissue compared to bone. Here, raloxifene acts as an estrogen blocker, reducing the stimulating effects of estrogen on breast cells that could potentially turn cancerous.
