This University has compiled a listing of scholarships available to international students. However, SLU does not administer these programs. The awarding organizations determine the requirements and deadlines. Interested students should contact the organization as early as possible for applications and other information.
First, the American Association of University Women is a scholarship the program open to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Second, the American-Scandinavian Foundation scholarship is given to the applicants belonging to Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden. The purpose of this award is to encourage advanced study and research and increase understanding between the U.S. and Scandinavia.
Third, Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund supports the education of women from developing countries committed to improve the lives of women and children in their home countries. Fourth, P.E.O international peace scholarship fund is for those who has qualified for admission to full-time graduate study, working toward a graduate degree in a college or university in the United States or Canada. A student holding citizenship or permanent residency of the U.S. or Canada is ineligible. Fifth, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. National Education Foundation is available to graduate United States students studying abroad and/or graduate foreign students studying within the U.S. Awarded for full-time study for one academic year (fall-spring).
Northeastern provides need-based financial aid to U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents, and eligible non-citizens (as determined by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services). International students are not eligible for need-based financial aid. All students regardless of citizenship are eligible for merit-based scholarships. No additional application is necessary, as the application for admission serves as scholarship application. Merit-based scholarship are extremely competitive awards and students get these who are in the top 10–15% of the applicant pool. Awards range from $10,000-$25,000.
