Good vibes and positivity in times of COVID-19

Good vibes

“Happiness is not something you chase and catch; it is something you chose.”  – Steven Aitchinson

This is a time of great peril. Dark and bleak clouds cover the world. The uncertainty of a ‘tomorrow’ is higher than ever. COVID-19 has squeezed out happiness from life. Families are broken up about their loved ones who are in hospitals. People are grieving more than ever because stringent rules are applied to the funerals of COVID-19 patients. Is there any way out? Can we win against COVID-19? Can we be happy again? Celebrities, social media influencers, and musicians are saying, “Heck, yeah.” Can we share positivity and good vibes, again?

From YouTube and Instagram

Sara Qalbani, a staff writer for student magazine for the Saint Louis University, reminds us to celebrate life in COVID-19 with the world. She cites social media figures such as actor John Krasinski, Justin Baldoj, and singers Lady Gaga and Charlie Puth, who are spreading good vibes virtually. Some Good News, a YouTube channel by Krasinski celebrates good news that gets blocked because of the COVID-19 scare. The actor Baldoni, an advocate of social justice, takes up chatting with his followers on weekly nights. Bright Minded: Live with Miley is an IGTV program by Miley Cyrus, where the singer shares tips and discusses on coming out of this crisis safely. Her comfy sweatpants and comfortable attire attracts an audience who share the same level of casualness while being on lockdown.

To live shows and trendy dishes

Singers like Shawn Mendes, John Legend are holding live Instagram concerts for free. Actor Josh Gad, the voice of Olaf in Frozen movie, has hosted a new series titled “#OlafAtHome”. It showcases clips that follow the life of Olaf during this pandemic. The actor also takes up to Instagram to read children’s books before bedtime. Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh relates with the netizens as he makes the trending Dalgona coffee for his wife. Actor Neha Dhupia indulges in drawing with her daughter. Actress Malaika Arora gives us a homey feeling as she posts herself making Besan ke Laddoos, an Indian sweet, on Instagram.

Don’t lose hope. Find the smallest moments of happiness in life, and you’ll come out just fine.
